On a cold, barren road.
Her eyes were still shining,
But with faded hope.

She wished if it could all be gone,
She hoped if she could just disappear.
But alas! It was the truth she had to face
Of shattered hopes, with utter disgrace.

Her eyes never wept,
Her smile never ceased.
But her heart knew she was tired.
She carried it all the way alone,
And no one was there to take her home.
